Terms of service

HostBook ("the service") generates guest guidebooks and fridge cards from information and photos you provide. The service is offered to hosts of properties in Australia; prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.

Purchases

Payments are processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, which handles billing, taxes, receipts and refunds. A purchase is for one property: The Fridge Card (A$19) is a printable one-page card; The Guest Edition (A$49) adds a multi-page guidebook PDF and a hosted guest page. Edits and rewrites for that property are included. Refunds are available within 30 days of purchase by replying to your receipt, limited to one refund per customer (email address); this does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. After a refund the hosted guest page goes offline; the printed products you downloaded remain yours.

Hosting

The Guest Edition includes 12 months of hosting of the guest page. After that the guest page may go offline; the PDF and the fridge card you downloaded stay yours forever. We email you before the included hosting ends.

Your photos

Photos you upload must be yours or used with permission, and must not show guests or other people without their consent. They are stored privately with your guidebook and used only in your guidebook, its PDF and its guest page. Removing a photo in Edit deletes it from storage.

Review requests

The review QR code links to the review page you provide. It is a request, not an incentive: do not offer guests anything in exchange for a review, which Airbnb and Stayz prohibit.

Your content and accuracy

HostBook writes from what you type; you are responsible for the accuracy of safety, emergency and house information for your property. You own the information you enter and the guidebook produced from it. The service arranges and words what you provide; it does not check it, and it does not know your property, your building or your local rules. The guidebook is general host information, not legal, safety, insurance or tax advice. Before you share it with guests, read every section and confirm the emergency numbers, fire and safety instructions, access codes, house rules and local information are correct and current for your property, and check your lease, strata or owners corporation by-laws, your state short-term rental registration (for example the NSW STRA register) and your council rules. Do not enter information you are not permitted to share.

Availability

The service is provided as-is. We aim for high availability but make no uptime guarantee. Hosted guidebook pages remain available for the hosting period above; we will email you before any removal.

Independence

Independent and Australian-focused. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Airbnb or Stayz. Airbnb, Stayz and Booking.com are trademarks of their owners and are mentioned only to describe where hosts list their properties.

Acceptable use

No automated bulk generation, scraping, or use of the service for anything other than guest guidebooks and related host documents.
